BBQ Bison Burgers

BBQ Bison Burgers

A juicy burger on the barbecue is a quintessential marker of summer. It is, in fact, what many of us consider a staple of the season.

Now, most of us grew up on good ol' Alberta beef burgers, and while no one can argue that they are in fact delicious, there is something to be said for a little change of scenery when it comes to this summer's burgers.

Enter the Bison Burger!

Serves 6

Total Time: 15 Mins

2 lbs ground
2 eggs
1 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp montreal steak spice
1 garlic clove chopped
1 cup homemade salsa or BBQ sauce

1. Set the barbeque to medium-high heat.

2. Mix all ingredients together and shape into patties.  (I use ½ cup of burger so that they are equal size and cook evenly).

3. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes turn and cook another 3-4 minutes.  Do not over cook.

4. Serve with fresh buns and your favourite condiments.
